'The department' premiere scores high ratings at Silverbird screening
A
new movie which will debut in cinemas on the 30th of January 2015 has
gotten a lot of Nigerians excited at its premiere at the Silverbird
cinemas on Sunday, 25th January, 2015.
The
Department, a must watch romantic/crime based movie is from the stables
of Inkblot productions in association with Closer Pictures. Think
Corporate Espionage and think “The Department”, which is a break away
from the usual norm of story-telling. A secret organization tagged ‘The
Department’ run by young professionals, blackmails Top Executives into
selling their companies to the ‘man’ behind the Department. Two lovers,
Tolu and Nnamdi, opt out of The Department and get married. They’ve
broken the rule, one which the department has refused to ignore. The
pressure, intrigues, blackmail from the group, soon tests their love for
each other.
The
movie parades a blend of established and talented fast rising young
stars; Desmond Elliot (When Love Happens), Majid Michel (Being Mrs
Elliot),OsasIghodaro (Ex Ms Black USA, Tinsel),JideKosoko (Last Flight
to Abuja), O.C. Ukeje (Half Of A Yellow Sun,When love happens), Kenneth
Okolie (EX Mr Nigeria, Mrs Somebody),SeunAkindele (Dazzling Mirage) and
SomkeleIyamah (Ex face of Visafone, Gidi Up web series).
According

The
Department was written by Chinaza Onuzo, directed by Remi Vaughan-
Richards, and produced by Chinaza Onuzo and UduakOguamanam. This highly
pulsating movie is theatrically distributed by FilmOne, the distributor
of the 2014 blockbuster movies; Half of a yellow sun, October 1 and When
love happens.
