MEET THE SENSATIONAL R&B SINGER - WALE WAVES

Wale Waves started writing songs at the age of 13. While in school, he discovered his interest in Music grew stronger by the days and within a short while he started playing around with his own compositions.

"Music to me is like the air I breathe, it's practically the core of my existence" he describes his passion. Growing up with songs from James Brown, Michael Jackson, King Sunny Ade, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Ebenezer Obey, IK Dairo, Prince Adekunle and the likes helped develop his skills. His connection with the old school musical greats influenced the depth that is now synonymous with his music style. Little wonder people find it easy to connect with his song. He believes he wouldn't be doing the kind of stuffs he does not if his dad had not been a music lover who constantly bought records of the artiste that later influenced him.

His adventure into the Nigeria Music Industry started as far back as 1997 when he performed at THE DTD SHOW, LEKKI. He waohed the crowd with his accapella performance alongside the then TWIN-X singers. Since then he's been able to gather fans from all over the country, wherever he went to perform it was certain new fans would be made. His early single "Blunt" placed him on the music map as a vocal performer to watch out for. "Blunt" was given media hype and airplay, loved by everyone who heard it. He went on to record the Ibadan Anthem song "Ibadan Lawa". The song spread like wild fire as everyone who hailed or lived in Oyo State, Nigeria and her environs quickly found in it a true song that represents the true essence and culture of Ibadan, especially the fans in diaspora. The song made him very popular and later on the biggest Act in Ibadan, most especially in Oyo State.
Wale Waves refers to his music style as Afro centric, "My style is basically Afrocentric R'n'B/Pop and Hip Hop...". One can easily notice how he fuses his native language in his songs. "I like to represent where I am from, R.Kelly will never sing Fuji Music. My songs are a reflection of my life and my environment. I am black and proud." His vocal strength stands him out amongst his peers and the ladies just love to hear his voice, though he doesn't count himself as a sex symbol he still agrees that a major percentage of his fans are the ladies. "I love the way they react when I perform on stage or just singing at the club.”.

Years after years, passion and persistence laced his pursuits for achievements, excellence and success. He paid all the dues he ought to pay as life demands per time; sometimes he paid in tears and pains. Since 2005, Wale Waves has continuously blazed several top notch events organized by prominent brands like the British Council Party 2005 in Ikoyi, Guinness 2005/2006 Party respectively including special performances at Beauty Pageants such as Miss Oyo Beauty Pageant, Miss U.I Beauty Pageant, Miss Osun 2007, Celtel's 2007 End of the Year Party, The Next Movie Star TV Reality Show Eviction and Winners' Parties and Opening Party 2007 till date, He was also a special performer at the premiere of THE FIGURINE (MOVIE OF THE YEAR - AMAA AWARDS 2010) as the vocalist on the movie soundtrack, and has worked with several popular artists.
